A mental health update from Mahrukh
It's important at this unusual time to focus on your mental health. With this in mind, our Mental Health & Wellbeing Officer, Mahrukh Zulfiqar has a message for you all.
I sincerely hope that you are coping with these stressful times without any major hurdles and difficulties. The second lockdown is here, and the less we regret, the more we will be relaxed, after all it is for YOU and YOUR HEALTH. We can hope, within a few weeks this situation will ease out and we would see things returning to normal. Through this message, I intend to inform you that Cyber Soc is actively involved in arranging events and the mental being of the members is our first priority.
Both the University and Cyber Soc offer their own support through counselling and student advice, for more info on what’s available follow this link:
The Welsh government indicated extra support for mental health services as well as their own helpline available 24/7 they can be reached on 0800 132 737. Their website (www.callhelpline.org.uk) and you can find them on Twitter @CALL_247.
However, support is not limited to the authorities listed above, we believe that you reaching out to your peers, family relatives would also provide some personalized help.
As an alternative, I am also available to your concerns or queries! I can be reached via social media channels for a personalized one to one. Feel free to drop a hello anytime :)
Nonetheless, it is important to build on your immunity. I would suggest you consume immunity boosters, exercise well & have a healthy sleep schedule.
Lastly, it is my plea, please follow all the social distancing guidelines listed by the WHO & the Welsh Government.
Well being officer Mahrukh Zulfiqar
